Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caio Carvalho (ranked 1917 p4p, 1958 weight class) and Thufir Hawat (ranked 247 p4p, 256 weight class). Carvalho comes to the cage accompanied by Pentagono - É o Moio. Thufir Hawat has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carvalho throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hawat was covering up waiting for the punch and Carvalho finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hawat pulls Carvalho in close to his closed guard and prevents Carvalho from doing any damage or advancing position.
Let's hope that Hawat has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Caio Carvalho.
I think Carvalho has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
