Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ekon Odogwu (ranked 3529 p4p, 5974 weight class) and Vincent Diaz (ranked 385 p4p, 521 weight class). Diaz is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tantric Buddhist Chants. Ekon Odogwu has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Odogwu cracks Diaz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Diaz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Odogwu avoids it really well and circles away.

Diaz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Odogwu to the ground. Diaz is now in Odogwu's guard.
Odogwu is adopting a defensive guard.
Odogwu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Odogwu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diaz manages to get himself to full guard.

Odogwu stands and throws Diaz's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Diaz taking punishment in the form of punches.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Odogwu tries to advance to mount but can't.
Odogwu moves into full mount!

Odogwu throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Diaz has his hands clasped together but Odogwu breaks the hold and Diaz is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Odogwu!
