Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luan Mesquita (ranked 1166 p4p, 1730 weight class) and Patrick Nielson (ranked 154 p4p, 219 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Nielson!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mesquita connects with a right hand. Nielson shakes it off.
Good standup being displayed there by Nielson as he connects with a hook.
Mesquita takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Mesquita throwing a counter right hand but Nielson manages to avoid it.

Mesquita got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nielson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mesquita has managed to get both his arms back between Nielson's legs - danger averted.

and Nielson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mesquita won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mesquita is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Nielson is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Nielson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mesquita to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mesquita shrugs it off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mesquita can't escape the position.
Mesquita is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Belmiro Academy, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
A nice elbow there by Nielson.

Mesquita is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nielson pulls his head out easily.
Mesquita tries to roll over but Nielson keeps him under control.
Nielson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mesquita doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nielson.
Mesquita has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Nielson. Oh but Mesquita has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Nielson goes limp - he's gone! Mesquita jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
