Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Harry Caldwell (ranked 3928 p4p, 2322 weight class) and Martin Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin Alexander is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Harry Caldwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Martin Alexander!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander misses with a combination

and Caldwell counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caldwell controls from within his opponent's guard.
Alexander pulls Caldwell in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caldwell sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alexander's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alexander wants to get back to full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Caldwell trying to control the action but Alexander is working from the bottom.
Alexander avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Caldwell.

Caldwell seems to be working for a kimura but Alexander defends the submission attempt.
Alexander is refusing to be controlled, as Caldwell sits in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Caldwell with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Caldwell frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Caldwell pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Caldwell throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Alexander is trying to reverse the position but instead Caldwell has taken his back - oops!

Caldwell has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
I really don't envy Alexander right now.

Caldwell is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Even with his hooks in, Caldwell manages to miss with strikes from the back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Caldwell working for a choke but Alexander is defending well.

Caldwell is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Alexander has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Harry Caldwell dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Caldwell drops his hands momentarily and Alexander takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Alexander throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Caldwell stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Alexander scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alexander ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Martin Alexander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alexander keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Alexander stuns Caldwell with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alexander scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Alexander digs a good body shot into Caldwell's ribs.
A jab from Alexander finds it's way through Caldwell's defenses.

Caldwell is rocked!
Caldwell walks into a straight right hand from Alexander.
Oh Caldwell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nice body punch from Alexander.
Caldwell seems to have got his legs back now.

Alexander lands a big uppercut and Caldwell crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Caldwell looks OK. Alexander waves Caldwell back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Caldwell looks up at the clock. Bad move! Alexander lands a right hand from hell, dropping Caldwell. Alexander pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Martin Alexander!
Martin Alexander took some time post fight to say the following; 'BOY, YOU WANTED TO GO AGAINST SOMEONE GOOD? ARE YOU HAVING A BUBBLE BATH, EASY WIN FOR ME BOY. SIT DOWN, AND HAVE A SLICE OF HUMBLE PIE. NONCE.'.
