The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Kardi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Magomedov. Magomedov shoots in and drives through. Kardi sprawls well. Kardi with the counter takedown but Magomedov avoids it easily. Kardi scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Magomedov (0) vs (2) Kardi Magomedov actively working from the bottom here. Kardi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kardi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Magomedov defends it well. Kardi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Magomedov tries to get to full guard but Kardi has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kardi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Magomedov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kardi pushes a forearm under Magomedov's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Magomedov is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
