Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Nagy (ranked 3448 p4p, 4277 weight class) and Rohan Peters (ranked 385 p4p, 0 weight class). Rohan Peters has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Nagy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rohan Peters!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagy takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Peters lands a head shot.
Nagy throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Peters.
Peters misses with a jab, cross combination.
Peters falls off balance throwing a combination

and Nagy counters by moving into the clinch.
Nagy blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Nagy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Peters lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nagy circles away quickly and effectively.
Nagy swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Nagy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Peters pinned against the cage. Peters gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rohan Peters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peters scores with a jab to the jaw.
Peters misses with the combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Peters lands with an uppercut that bounces Nagy off the cage and back into range.
Peters's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Peters duly obliges.
Nagy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Peters pinned against the cage. Peters gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Peters jabs at Nagy's body.
Peters works the jab nicely.

Nagy moves into the clinch.
Peters is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Nagy is defending well for now.
Peters trying to stall but Nagy improves his position.
Nagy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Peters is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Nagy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nagy drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nagy managing to block the knees to the body from Peters.
Peters misses with the head strike.

Nagy pulls guard effortlessly.
Nagy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Peters must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Peters is looking to stand up but Nagy won't let him.
Peters trying to control the position from guard on top but Nagy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Nagy holds on and takes a little breather.
Peters has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nagy is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Peters checks a leg kick.
Nagy takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Nagy has closed the distance and engaged Peters in a clinch.

Nagy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nagy tries for a takedown but Peters circles away easily
and Peters counters with a nice uppercut.
Nagy is breathing heavily.
Peters connects with a good right hand that stumbles Nagy. Nagy circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Peters moves into range and connects with a jab.
Peters darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Peters comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Peters throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nagy.
Nagy takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Nagy is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Peters has cracked Nagy with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Peters lands another huge swinging hook and Nagy tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Nagy, before Peters can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rohan Peters!
