Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Samson Ojeni!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ojeni.
Ojeni stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ojeni sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.
Ojeni fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jones looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ojeni slips a jab from Jones.
Ojeni waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Jones. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Jones to the canvas! Can he finish him!?


It looks like Jeffrey Jones has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ojeni wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.

Jones looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Ojeni passes into half guard.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Ojeni has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Jones prevents Ojeni from taking his back.

Ojeni takes Jones's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Jones is in trouble.
Ojeni doesn't have the hooks in and Jones manages to turn into his guard.

Ojeni had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jones is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ojeni Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jones's back instead.
Jones trying to control the position but Ojeni manages to sink in the hooks.
Jones breaks Ojeni's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Ojeni has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Jones misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ojeni, who protects the arm well.

Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Ojeni manages to get back to half guard.
Jones misses with a head shot. Ojeni uses the momentum to regain guard.

Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ojeni is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ojeni has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ojeni is one step ahead there.
Jones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ojeni defends well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jones looking for subs off his back but Ojeni has passed one foot through into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samson Ojeni dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jeffrey Jones's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ojeni throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
Jones misses with an uppercut. Ojeni saw that one coming.
Jeffrey Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ojeni misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones throws a combination that misses
and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jones is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ojeni.
Ojeni lunges at Jones with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jones's hand.


Jeffrey Jones's cut is getting worse.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jones scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Jones prevents Ojeni from escaping the position.

Jones goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ojeni has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jones but great work by Ojeni.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ojeni decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Good standup being displayed there by Ojeni as he connects with a hook.

Ojeni throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ojeni counters with a nice uppercut.


Jeffrey Jones's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Ojeni throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Nice uppercut lands for Ojeni. That snapped Jones's head back.
Jones throws a combination that misses
and Ojeni counters with a straight right hand.
Samson Ojeni seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ojeni keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Ojeni lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jones backs up against the cage.
Ojeni misses with a double jab.
Ojeni wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jones tries to move into range but Ojeni moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


Jeez, Jeffrey Jones's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Ojeni lands with a shot to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ojeni lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jones backs up against the cage.
Samson Ojeni is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jones has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jeffrey Jones's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
