The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adesanya fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hodge sprawls well initially but Adesanya persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Adesanya wants to free his trapped foot but Hodge is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hodge regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hodge working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adesanya doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hodge is tightening it up a little... Adesanya has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Adesanya reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Adesanya taps out! Nice BJJ there by Hodge!
