HC GRAP 26 PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 13 losses; Marquis Chriss! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 5 losses; Sambo Sam! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Chriss fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sam sprawls well initially but Chriss persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Chriss (2) vs (0) Sam Sam is trying to maintain the position but Chriss is very close to passing his half guard. Sam tries to get to full guard but Chriss has control of the leg. Chriss wants to pass to mount but Sam is defending the position. Chriss is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sam doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chriss. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sam wants to get back to full guard.

Chriss might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Chriss controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
