Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin McGreegan (ranked 1641 p4p, 1787 weight class) and Lian Belmiro (ranked 183 p4p, 194 weight class). McGreegan comes into the arena with Blow At High Dough - Tragically Hip blaring out of the sound system. Justin McGreegan could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Lian Belmiro's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Justin McGreegan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lian Belmiro!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGreegan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Belmiro was well out of range. Poor timing from McGreegan.
McGreegan fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Belmiro misses with a takedown attempt - McGreegan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McGreegan misses with a left hand
and Belmiro counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Belmiro trying to control but McGreegan is working from the bottom.
McGreegan looking for a sweep. Not yet McGreegan, not yet.
McGreegan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Belmiro defends well.
Belmiro slips nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGreegan is trying to get back to full guard.
Belmiro slips a nice elbow through McGreegan's hands, connecting with McGreegan's forehead.

McGreegan wants to improve his position but Belmiro is controlling well.
Belmiro looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McGreegan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
McGreegan gets full guard.
Belmiro drops back, looking for a kneebar! McGreegan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McGreegan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McGreegan!
The ground and pound from McGreegan seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
McGreegan looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Belmiro manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
McGreegan tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Belmiro.
McGreegan wants to pass to mount but Belmiro is defending the position.

McGreegan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Belmiro!

Belmiro has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
McGreegan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Belmiro is looking to escape.

McGreegan prevents Belmiro from getting the reversal.

McGreegan is really struggling to control Belmiro but he's trying to hold on to the position.

McGreegan is looking for a triangle but Belmiro pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Belmiro lands a couple of elbows.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Belmiro lands a nice short elbow.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
McGreegan gets caught flat footed, as Belmiro shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
McGreegan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Belmiro postures up and lands a big shot to McGreegan's brow.
Belmiro is working McGreegan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

McGreegan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Belmiro pulls his head out easily.
Belmiro is trying to control the action in half guard but McGreegan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Belmiro connects with a nice short shot to McGreegan's temple.
Belmiro seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
McGreegan wants to improve his position but Belmiro is controlling well.

Belmiro is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McGreegan is just riding it out for now. Belmiro eventually gives up the hold.

Belmiro uses his free foot to push down on McGreegan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for McGreegan.
McGreegan seems to have got his legs back now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGreegan is wriggling around trying to escape.
Belmiro with a couple of short strikes.
Belmiro tries to control but McGreegan wriggling away.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Belmiro is landing with some decent strikes but McGreegan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Belmiro! McGreegan is hurt baaadly! Belmiro is firing away with more strikes - McGreegan is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
