Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ralph Rodgers (ranked 3093 p4p, 4677 weight class) and Woody Clewlow (ranked 312 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rodgers lands in his opponent's guard.
Clewlow scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Rodgers shoots for a takedown but Clewlow saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rodgers tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Clewlow paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Clewlow scores with the left hand. Rodgers knows he should have avoided that one.
Rodgers takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Rodgers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rodgers wants it to stay on the feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rodgers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Clewlow walks away with a smile on his face. Rodgers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Horrible takedown attempt by Rodgers or perhaps it was just good defense by Clewlow, which made it look bad.

Clewlow has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Rodgers is on him like a limpet, forcing Clewlow back against the cage.

Well Clewlow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
