Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tom Dover! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leo Brichta! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brichta clinches up with Dover and pushes him back against the cage. Dover tries to pull guard but Brichta won't allow it.
Dover tries for a takedown but Brichta manages to get underhooks.
Brichta breaks from the clinch.
Brichta moves into the clinch successfully.
Brichta breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brichta connects with an inside leg kick. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Brichta!
Brichta throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Brichta fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Brichta moves into the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dover jumps guard but Brichta turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Dover. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brichta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Brichta moves into range and clinches up with Dover. Dover jumps guard but Brichta stands there with Dover around his waist. Dover gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brichta is leaning against Dover and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Brichta decides to pull guard. Brichta is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dover pushing down on Brichta's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Dover wants to work for an arm triangle but Brichta is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dover has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Brichta defend it? Dover steps over the head and cranks it - Brichta is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Dover!
