Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between King Kong Jones (ranked 4439 p4p, 4498 weight class) and Xi Daerji (ranked 424 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Xi Daerji enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, King Kong Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Xi Daerji!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ben Watson and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daerji darts in looking for a takedown but Jones gets double underhooks and turns Daerji into the cage.
Nice sprawl there from Daerji as Jones shoots in.
Jones wants to clinch up but Daerji keeps it at a distance.
Daerji shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Daerji keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones just misses with a punch to the body.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt.
Daerji shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.
King Kong Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xi Daerji.
Daerji slips under a jab from Jones.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daerji throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Jones drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Daerji gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Daerji drives through and clinches with Jones against the cage.

Daerji ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Daerji no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

That was a close round but I would say that King Kong Jones will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Daerji pushes Jones off but Jones dives into side control.
Daerji is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Daerji is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The referee asks Jones politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jones prefers to stall for the moment though.

Daerji tries to buck Jones off but Jones is having none of it.
Jones trying to control the action but Daerji is working from the bottom.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jones tries to advance to mount but can't.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that King Kong Jones will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Jones shoots in and drives through. Daerji sprawls well.
Daerji wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance.
Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for Daerji on that attempt.

King Kong Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

You can see the frustration on Daerji's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jones is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Jones!
