This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 4 losses; Sea Snake! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 9 losses; Thomas Engine!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Snake clinches up with Engine and pushes him back against the cage.
Snake jumps guard but Engine stands there with Snake around his waist. Snake gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Engine turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Snake wants to control but Engine postures up.
Engine happy to just control the position for now.

Engine is trying to get an arm triangle but Snake is defending well.
Engine content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Engine's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Engine looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Snake is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Engine jumps into side control!

Engine is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Engine wants to control but Snake is keeping him busy.

Engine tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Engine has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Snake moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Engine tries to free his leg and advance position but Snake is retaining full guard.

Snake stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Engine swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Snake drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Engine manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Snake has Engine in his guard.

Snake had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Engine defends it easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Engine controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
