Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cowen Collard (ranked 25456 p4p, 25253 weight class) and Yip Man (ranked 296 p4p, 294 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cowen Collard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yip Man!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collard tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Man defends well and Collard ends up having to push Man into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Collard is pressed up against the cage. Man has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Collard down to the mat. Collard avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Collard fails with a takedown attempt.
Nice shot lands for Man.
Man fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Collard manages to avoid it.

Collard drives through and clinches with Man against the cage.

Collard ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Collard no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Collard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Man controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Collard looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Man puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Collard missing with punches from the bottom.
Man trying to pass the guard but Collard defending well.
Man seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Collard on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Collard tries to get out of the position.
Let's hope that Man has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Man passes to full mount!
Collard really wants to buck Man off and get back to his feet.
Man looking to control and managing it successfully.
Man with the ground and pound from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Man content just to control the position here.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Man.
Collard is desperately trying to improve his position but Man has a good base and remains in mount.
Man sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Collard looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Man prevents Collard from getting the reversal.
Man takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Collard is looking to improve his position but Man isn't that keen on the idea.
Man controlling his opponent.
Man lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Man content just to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Man dominating with strikes here.
Man lands a couple of good shots and Collard has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yip Man dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

A head kick misses from Collard.
Man throws a hook to the side of Collard's head but Collard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Man takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Nice uppercut lands for Man. That snapped Collard's head back.

Collard is rocked!
Man scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Oh Collard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Man cracks Collard with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Collard tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Man pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Collard is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yip Man!
