PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 2523 p4p, 1365 weight class) and Ford Kish (ranked 301 p4p, 173 weight class). Anderson comes into the arena with Pick up man blaring out of the sound system. Kish is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tom MacDonald - "Dirty Money". Ford Kish has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Anderson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ford Kish!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kish cracks Anderson with a good jab.

Anderson moves into the clinch successfully.
Anderson has Kish pressed against the cage.
Kish misses with a punch to the body.

Anderson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Anderson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kish sees it coming and defends easily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kish connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Anderson momentarily.
Anderson avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Kish throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Anderson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kish scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Anderson doesn't seem bothered though.
Anderson lands a nice shot that snaps Kish's head back.
Kish jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Kish has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kish paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Kish makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Anderson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Kish feints and then cracks Anderson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Anderson down.

Kish scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Anderson doesn't seem bothered though.
Anderson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kish's waist but Kish gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Anderson off to one side.

Anderson is looking to clinch but Kish is avoiding it.

and Kish counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Anderson clinches up with Kish and pushes him back against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kish breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Anderson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kish's guard.
Kish wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Anderson manages to pass to side control.

Kish has his hands clasped together around Anderson's back. He's all about the action.
Let's hope that Kish has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Anderson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kish does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kish has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Anderson is working away from the top position though.

Anderson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Anderson looks to land a strike but Kish avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Anderson jumps guard but Kish stands there with Anderson around his waist. Anderson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
