PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frank Alexandre Ingram (ranked 4107 p4p, 4148 weight class) and Scott Marshall (ranked 245 p4p, 0 weight class). Ingram kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Last Breath. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ingram misses with a wild body shot.
Ingram has his takedown stuffed
and Marshall counters with a series of strikes. Ingram will be more careful next time no doubt.
Marshall looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Ingram holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Marshall is trying to drag Ingram to the mat but Ingram just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ingram really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Frank Alexandre Ingram has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Marshall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ingram has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Marshall avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Ingram has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Marshall uses from the top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ingram shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Marshall manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Marshall dodges the punch combination from Ingram.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ingram looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Marshall doesn't manage to clinch there - Ingram circles away.

Nice takedown defense from Marshall. No joy for Ingram on that attempt.
Marshall goes for a double leg but Ingram avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ingram continues to drive forward.

Ingram closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Ingram gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Marshall.

Ingram successfully pulls guard.

Marshall content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Ingram has locked up a guillotine! Ingram's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Marshall is holding on here and Ingram must be using up a lot of energy. Marshall has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Ingram gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
