Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nirmal Singh (ranked 2306 p4p, 2278 weight class) and Kamil Khadziev (ranked 239 p4p, 236 weight class). Nirmal Singh could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kamil Khadziev's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nirmal Singh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kamil Khadziev!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khadziev tries to clinch up but Singh circles away and keeps his distance.
Singh tries to counter by clinching up but Khadziev breaks away and moves out of range.

Singh gets a takedown into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Singh seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Singh perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Singh's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Khadziev fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Khadziev keeps the fight on the outside.

Singh throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Khadziev was covering up waiting for the punch and Singh finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Singh controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Khadziev wants to stand but Singh is controlling the position.
Singh stays in close to Khadziev's body and controls the position.

Singh has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Khadziev is looking to stand up but Singh isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Singh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Khadziev manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Khadziev has a closed guard, preventing Singh from standing up.

Singh stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Kamil Khadziev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khadziev shoots in for a takedown but Singh shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Khadziev bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Singh's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Khadziev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Singh. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nirmal Singh dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Khadziev shoots for a double leg takedown but Singh sprawls well. He's pushed Khadziev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've been told by Singh's head coaches at Xtreme Fighting Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Singh stuffs the takedown attempt from Khadziev. Khadziev gets slowly back to his feet.

Singh tries for a takedown. No joy.
Singh changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Khadziev fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Singh fails to land the takedown.
We've been informed that Khadziev has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nirmal Singh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Singh closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Singh is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Khadziev can do to turn this around?

Singh wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Khadziev has him pressed against the cage.

Singh breaks the clinch.

Khadziev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Singh is pulling down on Khadziev's head to control his posture.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Khadziev wants to get back to his feet but Singh is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Khadziev can do anything to dispel that myth.

Khadziev is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Singh presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Khadziev breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Singh shoots in looking for a takedown but Khadziev manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Singh's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Singh wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Singh fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Khadziev breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Singh rushes Khadziev and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Khadziev's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Khadziev continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Khadziev prevents Singh from breaking the clinch.
Singh tries to circle away but Khadziev has him pinned against the cage.
Khadziev lands with a left to the head.
Khadziev is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Khadziev breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kamil Khadziev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Khadziev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Singh as he avoids it easily.
Singh drops down looking for a counter takedown but Khadziev sprawls and moves away.
Khadziev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Singh is fending him off so far but Khadziev persists. Nope, Singh circles away and we're back to standing.
Singh pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Singh tries to clinch but Khadziev is having none of it.

Singh drives through and clinches with Khadziev against the cage.

Singh is working for takedown but Khadziev is calmly controlling the position for now.

Singh escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Singh closes the distance and clinches.
Khadziev lands a right hand.
Singh misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Khadziev.

Singh tries for a takedown but Khadziev manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nirmal Singh. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Singh is trying to stall.

Khadziev breaks the clinch.
Khadziev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Singh swivels and escapes.
A combination from Singh does no damage.
Khadziev shoots for a takedown but Singh saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Khadziev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Singh sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Khadziev somewhat.

Singh clinches up with Khadziev and pushes him back against the cage.

Singh has Khadziev pulled in close to control his posture.

Singh looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Khadziev passes into side control.
Singh is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Singh trying to get back to full guard but Khadziev takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Khadziev wants to control the pace but Singh is squirming around nicely.
Singh is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Let's hope that Khadziev has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Singh is in all sorts of trouble here.
Khadziev controlling the pace for now.
Singh wants to hold on but Khadziev pushes him away.
Singh is working to get back to half guard.
Nirmal Singh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Singh really wants to buck Khadziev off and get back to his feet.

Khadziev avoids the attempt from Singh to control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nirmal Singh showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Singh has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
