Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Liam Carter (ranked 3580 p4p, 5069 weight class) and Lonnie Fisher (ranked 400 p4p, 476 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Liam Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lonnie Fisher!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter wants to clinch.

Carter closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fisher quickly recovers to half guard.
Fisher is trying to get back to full guard.
Carter passes the guard and advances to mount!
Carter wants to control the pace but Fisher is squirming around nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fisher can't escape the position.

Carter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Carter scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Carter lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Fisher hang on?

Fisher wants to control but Carter is having none of it.
Fisher really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Carter lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Fisher tries to lock up and control but Carter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Carter cracks Fisher with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Carter prevents Fisher from getting the reversal.
Fisher regains half guard.

Carter is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fisher defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Carter looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Carter is keen to just control but Fisher is a slippery customer.
Carter passes the guard and advances to mount!
Fisher is in all sorts of trouble here.

Fisher defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Carter's arms.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carter biding his time, looking for the opening.

Carter closes the distance and pushes Fisher back into the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Carter.

Carter stalling in the clinch but Fisher improves position.

Carter manages to break the clinch.
Fisher throws a jab when Carter was well out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Carter 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Carter tries for a takedown but Fisher circles away easily
enabling Fisher to counter with a crisp jab.

Carter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fisher's guard.
Carter wants to control from the top but Fisher keeps moving.
Carter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Carter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fisher can do to turn this around?

Carter postures up in Fisher's guard and throws a big left but Fisher blocks it.

Fisher is looking for a triangle but Carter pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fisher is refusing to be controlled, as Carter sits in half guard.
Fisher strikes from the bottom but Carter uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Carter cracks Fisher with a big elbow.
Fisher is not content to let Carter control the position.
Fisher looks to move to half guard but instead Carter has passed into mount! Damn!

Fisher is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Fisher bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Fisher throws a big right hand that misses.
Liam Carter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Carter is controlling Fisher's posture.
Fisher looking to sit in guard and control but Carter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fisher is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carter is aware though and is defending well.
Carter passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Fisher tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Fisher manages to work his way to half guard, despite Carter's best efforts.
Carter lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Carter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Fisher has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carter is working away from the top position though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Carter is looking to take a break and control but Fisher is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, if Carter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Fisher looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Carter has picked Fisher up and slammed him! Fisher can't keep hold of the triangle and Carter manages to pass to side control!
Carter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fisher keeps working.

Carter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fisher is trying to work for a sweep but Carter has mounted him!
Fisher is desperately trying to improve his position but Carter has a good base and remains in mount.
Fisher takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Carter working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Carter looking to control but Fisher is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Liam Carter showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
