Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Ruane (ranked 3557 p4p, 5143 weight class) and Rey Ross (ranked 328 p4p, 422 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brandon Ruane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rey Ross!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross moves out of range of the leg kick from Ruane.
Ross throws a good cross that connects.
Ross throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ruane.
Ruane looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Ross lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Ross bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ruane's head.

Ruane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ross wants to get back to his feet.
Ross is refusing to be controlled, as Ruane sits in half guard.
Ruane wants to pass the guard but Ross is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ross looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ruane is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ross manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ruane keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Ross has hold of one of Ruane's legs. Ruane is fighting the takedown attempt but Ross gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Ruane working a defensive guard but Ross passes into half guard.
Ruane flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Ross thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ruane gets full guard.
Ross postures up in Ruane's guard and throws a big left but Ruane blocks it.
Ross controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ross wants to control from the top but Ruane keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ruane has momentary wrist control but Ross slips an elbow through the middle.
Ross wants to pass the guard but Ruane is keeping the position.
Ross prevents Ruane from getting back to his feet.
Ross postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ruane utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ruane keeping moving, preventing Ross from controlling successfully.
Ross postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ross throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Ruane working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ross.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ross in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ruane is breathing heavily.
Ross throwing strikes but missing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ross accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ross sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ruane tries to clinch up
and Ross counters with a left and a right that stings Ruane.
Ross scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ruane in his tracks.
Ross connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Ruane tumbling to the canvas! Ross pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Ruane was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Rey Ross!
Rey Ross opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
