The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Shultz kicks off Smith and gets to his feet.

Shultz manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Smith keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Shultz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Shultz has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Smith is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Shultz yanks on the arm and Smith is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Shultz.
