The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balschmieter lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Balschmieter lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Balschmieter connects with a right hand. Cliveira shakes it off.
Cliveira changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Balschmieter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Balschmieter misses with a strike from the bottom.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Balschmieter throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Cliveira is staying tight to Balschmieter's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Balschmieter wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Balschmieter throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Balschmieter is looking to reverse the position.
Cliveira is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Balschmieter is trying to escape and Cliveira transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Balschmieter is forced to tap! Nice work there by Cliveira! Very nice indeed!
