Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Saad Sadiq (ranked 22672 p4p, 2533 weight class) and Shahram Sheikhan (ranked 294 p4p, 98 weight class). Sadiq comes to the cage accompanied by Where Have All The Boot Boys Gone - Slaughter And The Dogs . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Saad Sadiq ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shahram Sheikhan! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sheikhan tries to clinch up. Sadiq changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Sheikhan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sadiq . Sadiq slips under a jab. Sheikhan has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Sadiq closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Sheikhan tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Sheikhan blocking the ground and pound. Sheikhan slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Sheikhan trying to hold on to Sadiq 's head to control him but Sadiq postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sheikhan is looking to control Sadiq 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sheikhan avoid being mounted? Sadiq wants to work for an arm triangle but Sheikhan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sadiq is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Sheikhan wants to get back to his feet. Sadiq looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Sadiq thows a huge punch but Sheikhan dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sadiq is looking to stall here but Sheikhan recovers full guard. Sadiq controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Sheikhan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Sadiq will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sadiq stands and throws Sheikhan's legs to the side, diving into side control. Sadiq lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sheikhan wants to get back to his feet but Sadiq is dominant here and he's now got Sheikhan's back! Sheikhan has hold of Sadiq 's leg, trying to break free but it's let Sadiq lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Sheikhan is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Sadiq throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Saad Sadiq ! Saad Sadiq decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
