This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 7 losses; Paddy Mcgillicutty! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Goble shoots for a double leg takedown but Mcgillicutty sprawls well. He's pushed Goble's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mcgillicutty shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mcgillicutty was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Goble (0) vs (4) Mcgillicutty Mcgillicutty thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Goble manages to get back to half guard. Mcgillicutty is working for a submission of some sort.
Mcgillicutty is working for a kimura but Goble is defending it quite comfortably.
Goble is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mcgillicutty pulls his head out easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goble moves into full guard.
Goble working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcgillicutty doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcgillicutty manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Goble had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mcgillicutty defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgillicutty thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Goble keeping full guard, as Mcgillicutty tries to pass. Mcgillicutty drops back looking for a leg! Goble is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Goble manages to kick Mcgillicutty off! Mcgillicutty jumps back into Goble's guard.
