The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and William Peck.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Easterly stuffs the takedown attempt from Globe. Globe gets slowly back to his feet.
Globe fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Holden Easterly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Easterly has closed the distance and engaged Globe in a clinch.
Globe stops a takedown attempt from Easterly .
Easterly has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Globe avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Easterly is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Globe gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Rufus Globe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Holden Easterly .
Easterly drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Globe sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Easterly 's guard.

Globe is working for a kimura but Easterly is defending it quite comfortably.
Globe takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Globe is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Globe prevents Easterly from improving his position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Globe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Easterly does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Globe is trying to work for a kimura but Easterly is defending well.

Globe is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Globe is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Easterly !

Globe fails to move to back control.
Easterly is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Easterly is squirming around, avoiding Globe's attempts to control the action.
Easterly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Globe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Globe is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Easterly to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Easterly shrugs it off.

Easterly is trying to escape the mount but Globe keeps good control and instead manages to take Easterly 's back.

Easterly is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Globe working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Globe is working for a rear naked choke. Easterly is not defending it well and Globe has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Easterly refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Easterly 's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rufus Globe!
