This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 6 losses; Lou Gotch! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 9 losses; Senger Line!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Line closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gotch to the mat! Gotch manages to get full guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Gotch (0) vs (2) Line
Gotch is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Line defends well.
Gotch seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Line drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Line jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Line wants to pass the guard but Gotch is keeping the position.
Gotch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Line doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Line manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Line is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gotch is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
