This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 37 wins and 23 losses; John McCain! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 5 losses; CC Chai! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Chai has closed the distance and engaged McCain in a clinch.

McCain has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Chai is looking to sweep but instead, McCain has passed into half guard.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Chai is stalling in the full guard. McCain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Chai sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McCain's guard. Chai is looking to stall here but McCain recovers full guard. McCain has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chai is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for McCain. Score +3 for passing guard: McCain (2) vs (10) Chai
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Chai goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, McCain has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Chai but great work by McCain. Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: McCain (6) vs (10) Chai Chai is looking to reverse the position. McCain thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Chai regains half guard there - taking advantage of McCain's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chai is trying to get back to full guard.
