Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Spears (ranked 1836 p4p, 1323 weight class) and Jake Walton (ranked 236 p4p, 170 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Spears misses its intended target.
Brandon Spears seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spears throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Walton counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Spears swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Walton counters with a nice uppercut.
Spears wants to clinch up but Walton keeps it at a distance.
Walton moves out of range of the strikes.
Spears has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad The Island in the buildup to the fight.
Spears misses with an uppercut.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Walton! But no joy.
Walton keeps the fight on the outside.
Walton avoids the body shot from Spears.
Despite the aggression on Walton's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spears pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Spears tries to clinch there but Walton circles away.

Spears lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Walton backs up against the cage.

Walton is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Spears to keep the fight standing.

Spears has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Walton to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Spears is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Walton pulls down on the head and he's put Spears to sleep! This one is all over!
