Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Forsten Van Whinkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Murderface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Whinkle fails with a takedown attempt. Murderface scores a takedown into full mount! Van Whinkle defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Murderface. Van Whinkle wants to hold on but Murderface pushes him away. Murderface trying to control but he's not successful this time. Murderface controlling from the full mount. Van Whinkle can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Van Whinkle is squirming around, avoiding Murderface's attempts to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Whinkle tries to hold on but Murderface postures up. Van Whinkle throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Murderface swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Van Whinkle is now in Murderface's guard. A big mistake from Murderface there, giving up the dominant position! Murderface looking for a guillotine here but Van Whinkle defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Murderface has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Van Whinkle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Van Whinkle is in close to Murderface's body, working some short punches and elbows. Murderface is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Murderface looks gassed! Van Whinkle is looking to work some ground and pound but Murderface has wrist control. Murderface has momentary wrist control but Van Whinkle slips an elbow through the middle. Van Whinkle wants to stand but Murderface has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Murderface utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murderface is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Murderface isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Van Whinkle stacks Murderface on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Van Whinkle! Murderface tries to improve position but can't. Van Whinkle thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Murderface tries to bench press Van Whinkle off him but Van Whinkle keeps the position. Van Whinkle cracks Murderface with a big right hand but Murderface just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Van Whinkle controls the position from side control. Murderface manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Murderface is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Van Whinkle scores with a couple of nice shots. Van Whinkle stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Murderface to get to his feet. Van Whinkle scores with a takedown into Murderface's guard. Van Whinkle has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Murderface is proving hard to escape from. Murderface looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Forsten Van Whinkle will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Van Whinkle shoots and misses and Murderface counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Murderface wants to take a breather but Van Whinkle is having none of it. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Murderface in particular looking to stall. Van Whinkle is trying to stand up here but Murderface is controlling him well. Van Whinkle wants to sweep but Murderface has passed to side control! Murderface trying to control the position but Van Whinkle is working away. Van Whinkle throws Murderface to one side and escapes! Forsten Van Whinkle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Van Whinkle tries to clinch but Murderface is having none of it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Murderface gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Van Whinkle counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Murderface's guard now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Whinkle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Van Whinkle accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Van Whinkle with a flurry of punches that miss. Murderface looking for a guillotine here but Van Whinkle defends easily.
Van Whinkle tries to free his leg and advance position but Murderface is retaining full guard. Van Whinkle trying to control but Murderface is working from the bottom. Murderface is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Murderface is trying to keep Van Whinkle in close.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Van Whinkle tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Murderface paws at him with a jab and circles away. Van Whinkle fakes the leg kick and cracks Murderface in the body. Murderface keeps the fight on the outside. Van Whinkle with a poor takedown and Murderface counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Murderface. Murderface prevents Van Whinkle from getting back to his feet. Murderface is pushing down on Van Whinkle's leg trying to pass to half guard. Van Whinkle is fighting to maintain full guard but Murderface has managed to sneak the leg through. Van Whinkle moves into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Whinkle wants to get back to his feet but Murderface is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Murderface postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Van Whinkle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Murderface, into his guard. Van Whinkle postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Van Whinkle trying to stand up but can't free himself from Murderface's guard. Murderface has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Van Whinkle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Murderface looking for subs off his back but Van Whinkle has passed one foot through into half guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Van Whinkle is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Murderface showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Murderface wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Van Whinkle, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Whinkle is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Van Whinkle is trying to control Murderface's posture but Murderface avoids it. Van Whinkle is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Murderface is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Van Whinkle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Van Whinkle gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Van Whinkle is pressing down on Murderface's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Murderface stops Van Whinkle from standing up. Murderface trying to control but Van Whinkle is working from the bottom. Murderface won't allow Van Whinkle to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Whinkle tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Murderface fails with the takedown and Van Whinkle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Van Whinkle looks to score with a jab to the body but Murderface is just out of range. Van Whinkle doesn't succeed with the takedown and Murderface counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Murderface is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Van Whinkle misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murderface is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Van Whinkle has managed to free his arm - good work. Van Whinkle is looking to control Murderface's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Van Whinkle avoid being mounted? Van Whinkle makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Van Whinkle. Murderface wants to control from the top but Van Whinkle keeps moving. Van Whinkle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Murderface on the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! William Murderface comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Murderface has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
