Washington comes to the cage accompanied by 'Till I Collapse. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akhmedov tries to close the distance and clinch but Washington swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Akhmedov clinches up with Washington and pushes him back against the cage.

Washington tightens his grip and picks Akhmedov up, before dumping him to the ground. Akhmedov manages to land in guard.
Washington stays in close to Akhmedov's body and controls the position.

Akhmedov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Washington controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Akhmedov wants to stand but Washington is controlling the position.
Washington stays in close to Akhmedov's body and controls the position.
Washington sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Akhmedov's guard.

Washington is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Akhmedov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Washington scores with a couple of nice shots.

Washington slows the pace down in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Washington decides to stand back up. Washington steps back and let's Akhmedov get back to his feet.

Washington tries to counter with a takedown but Akhmedov is quick to defend against it.

and Washington counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Washington has an Americana. Akhmedov didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Washington is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Washington hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
