Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cormac McCarthy (ranked 2322 p4p, 3128 weight class) and Wesley Crusher (ranked 266 p4p, 339 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCarthy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Crusher has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Crusher accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Crusher really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCarthy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Crusher got a little sloppy there for a moment and McCarthy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Crusher has managed to get both his arms back between McCarthy's legs - danger averted.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

McCarthy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Crusher defends it easily.
McCarthy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Crusher defends well.
McCarthy looking for a triangle here. Crusher is fighting it but it looks tight! McCarthy pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Crusher is tapping out - this one is all over!
