This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Billy Fischer! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Enrique Montoya! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Montoya tries to clinch there but Fischer circles away.
Montoya tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fischer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Fischer clinches. Fischer ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fischer no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Montoya preventing the sweep. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fischer holds on and takes a little breather. Montoya looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montoya is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fischer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Fischer wants to improve his position but instead Montoya has moved into half guard.
Montoya seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fischer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Fischer trying to hold on to Montoya's head to control him but Montoya postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fischer controlling the position for now. Fischer works his way to full guard. Good work. Fischer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Montoya is one step ahead there. Montoya controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montoya is continuing to stall. Let's hope that Montoya has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fischer controls Montoya momentarily but Montoya frees himself. Fischer wants to improve his position but instead Montoya has moved into half guard.
Fischer is trying to get back to full guard. Fischer wants to control but Montoya is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Fischer regains full guard. Nicely done. Montoya preventing the sweep. Montoya tries to free his leg and advance position but Fischer is retaining full guard. That's seven minutes gone in the round. Montoya really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Fischer. Fischer tries to escape but Montoya has the hooks in and won't let him break free. What can Fischer do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Fischer is keen to just control but Montoya is a slippery customer. Montoya tries to roll over but Fischer keeps him under control. Fischer with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Montoya is controlling Fischer's position as best he can from this difficult position. Well, if Fischer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
