Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 1474 p4p, 2715 weight class) and Quinton Ellis (ranked 174 p4p, 290 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cain Velasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Quinton Ellis! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Velasquez counters with a nice uppercut. Ellis fails with the takedown and Velasquez counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Velasquez lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Velasquez dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Velasquez drops Ellis with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ellis looks back up at him and smiles so Velasquez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Ellis is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ellis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Velasquez counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Ellis is still on wobbly legs! Can Velasquez finish him? Cain Velasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Ellis. Ellis looks winded! Ellis with a poor takedown and Velasquez counters with a lovely shot to the body. Velasquez finds Ellis's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Ellis flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Velasquez lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Ellis will be OK.
