PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ayo Kakongkong (ranked 25383 p4p, 3634 weight class) and Jack Buck (ranked 352 p4p, 276 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ayo Kakongkong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Buck!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Kakongkong.
Buck works over Kakongkong's head and body with a nice combination.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Buck crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kakongkong - the referee stops the clock and Buck gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kakongkong. Buck manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Buck looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Buck on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kakongkong misses with a low kick as Buck jumps back.

It looks like Jack Buck has been cut.
Buck uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kakongkong.
Buck is trying to counter with his kicks.
Buck with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kakongkong to score with a decent uppercut.
Buck fails with an attempt to clinch.
Buck tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

A jab-cross combination lands for Kakongkong and sends Buck crashing to the mat! Kakongkong follows him down to the mat - Buck regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Buck slips a straight right by Kakongkong.
Kakongkong throws a looping overhand right but Buck ducks down to avoid it.

Buck displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kakongkong throws out the jab.

Buck goes for a double leg but Kakongkong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kakongkong continues to drive forward.

Despite the aggression on Buck's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Kakongkong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ayo Kakongkong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Buck swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kakongkong.
The fight stays on the outside here - Buck looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Buck lands a big head kick that sends Kakongkong tumbling to the mat! Buck takes a step backwards and waves Kakongkong back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Kakongkong is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Buck lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Kakongkong goes down and covers up as Buck starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
