PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josef Stallin (ranked 2362 p4p, 2742 weight class) and Lucas Wilson (ranked 78 p4p, 166 weight class). Wilson has chosen I Stand Alone - Godsmack as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Josef Stallin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucas Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stallin throws a body shot but no joy.
Stallin throws a lazy right hand but Wilson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stallin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wilson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Stallin. That did some damage!
The fighters circling - Stallin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Stallin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Stallin is working for a submission of some sort.
Stallin wants to pass to mount but Wilson is defending the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stallin trying to control the pace.
Stallin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Stallin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Wilson is staying active underneath Stallin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Stallin is looking to advance position but Wilson won't allow it.

Stallin seems to be looking for submissions.
Wilson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Stallin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Stallin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wilson's guard.
Stallin is trying to control the action in half guard but Wilson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wilson is trying to control but can't.
Stallin wants to free his trapped foot but Wilson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Stallin is thwarting Wilson's attempts to control the position.

Wilson wants to sweep here but Stallin controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wilson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Stallin misses with the combination.
The fighters circling - Stallin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Wilson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Stallin.
A shot to the liver by Wilson. Beautiful body shot.
Wilson moves out of range of the strikes.
Both fighters circling a little - Wilson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Wilson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wilson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A head kick misses from Wilson.
Stallin feinted with a counter takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stallin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wilson.
Wilson has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Lucas Wilson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wilson avoids the body shot from Stallin.
Stallin on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Stallin is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Wilson's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Stallin is breathing heavily.
Wilson throws a hook to the side of Stallin's head but Stallin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wilson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wilson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Stallin.
Wilson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Stallin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wilson throws out the jab.
Sloppy strikes from Wilson. Those never looked like landing.
Stallin swings for the body but Wilson moves out of range.
As Stallin backs off Wilson throws a huge counter combo but Stallin manages to avoid it all.
Stallin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wilson swivels and escapes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stallin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wilson. Stallin does a little dance to reset his feet.

Stallin drives through with a takedown into Wilson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Josef Stallin will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Wilson throws a head kick but Stallin moves out of range.
Stallin tries to counter with a takedown but Wilson is quick to defend against it.

Wilson lands a left and a right that send Stallin crashing to the mat, dazed. Wilson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Stallin is rocked!

It looks like Josef Stallin has been cut.
Lucas Wilson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wilson shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Stallin takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Wilson sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Stallin bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lucas Wilson!
During a confident post fight interview, Lucas Wilson thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
