Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike Miami (ranked 964 p4p, 562 weight class) and Pope Callixtus (ranked 80 p4p, 0 weight class). Pope Callixtus is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Miami! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pope Callixtus! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Miami.
Miami definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Callixtus tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Miami defends well and Callixtus ends up having to push Miami into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Miami was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Miami misses with an uppercut. Callixtus saw that one coming. Miami thows a left - swing and a miss! Miami with a jab. Miami misses with a hook. Callixtus slips a jab and a cross from Miami.
Miami takes a swing at Callixtus's ribcage but misses. Callixtus defending well as Miami loads up on a big left hand. Miami throws an overhand right that lands on Callixtus's shoulder, as Callixtus tries to avoid the shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miami pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Callixtus on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Miami stuns Callixtus with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A big right from Miami misses. Miami throws an off balance right hand
and Callixtus counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Callixtus.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miami has his hands on Callixtus's head, controlling the position. Callixtus trying to control the position from guard on top but Miami is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Callixtus drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Callixtus jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Callixtus thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Callixtus trying to control but Miami is working from the bottom. My spies in Cozad The Island inform me that Callixtus has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Callixtus controlling from the top position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Miami throws a leg kick but Callixtus checks it. Callixtus feints the counter takedown. Callixtus scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Callixtus wants to control but Miami is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Callixtus is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Miami is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Miami is trying to get back to half guard. Callixtus is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Miami has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Miami tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Callixtus wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Callixtus slows the pace down. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Miami dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Miami stuns Callixtus with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Mike Miami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Callixtus has a takedown stuffed. Miami swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Callixtus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Callixtus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Miami is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Callixtus can do to turn this around? Miami wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Callixtus has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Miami's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Miami is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Callixtus!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Pope Callixtus! After winning the bout, Pope Callixtus thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
