Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Kidd (ranked 1395 p4p, 739 weight class) and Michael Harrison (ranked 174 p4p, 89 weight class). Harrison comes into a darkened arena with his song building. All of the Above kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Michael Harrison has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jesse Kidd's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jesse Kidd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrison moves into range and connects with a jab.
Harrison slaps away a takedown attempt from Kidd, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Harrison looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Harrison darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Kidd shoots and misses
and Kidd takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Kidd throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Harrison was covering up waiting for the punch and Kidd finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Kidd is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Harrison wants to sweep here but Kidd controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kidd thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kidd drops back looking for a leg! Harrison is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Harrison manages to kick Kidd off! Kidd jumps back into Harrison's guard.

Harrison's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Harrison thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kidd drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kidd jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Let's hope that Harrison has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harrison can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kidd is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Harrison is just riding it out for now. Kidd eventually gives up the hold.
Harrison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kidd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Harrison misses with some strikes from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kidd maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Harrison could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kidd has cracked it and Harrison is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kidd!
