This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 21 wins and 45 losses; Olaf Snowstrinski! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 41 losses; Mono Loco! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Loco shoots in looking for a takedown but Snowstrinski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Loco's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Snowstrinski leaves Loco with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Loco misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Olaf Snowstrinski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mono Loco. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Loco. Loco closes this distance looking for a takedown but Snowstrinski circles away. Loco shoots in for a takedown but Snowstrinski shows good takedown defense. Loco shoots in and drives through. Snowstrinski sprawls well. Loco looks winded! Loco tries to score a power double leg takedown but Snowstrinski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Loco somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Loco throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Snowstrinski's waist but Snowstrinski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Loco off to one side. Snowstrinski looking to score a takedown here. Loco is defending well but Snowstrinski drives through and ends up in Loco's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Snowstrinski (2) vs (0) Loco Snowstrinski sitting in guard here, content to control. Snowstrinski is pushing down on Loco's leg trying to pass to half guard. Loco is fighting to maintain full guard but Snowstrinski has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snowstrinski takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Snowstrinski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Snowstrinski is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Loco is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Olaf Snowstrinski decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you. |
