And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 32 wins and 15 losses; Chad Strdoza!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Abner clinches up against the ropes.
Abner turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Abner manages to end up in side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Abner (4) vs (0) Strdoza
Strdoza is looking for a sweep.
Strdoza manages to work his way to half guard, despite Abner's best efforts.
Strdoza keeping hold of Abner's head, controlling as best he can.
Strdoza trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Abner prevents Strdoza from improving his position.
Strdoza moves into full guard.
Strdoza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Abner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Abner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Strdoza tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Abner tries to free his leg and advance position but Strdoza is retaining full guard.

Strdoza has his foot on Abner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Abner works his way back into a safe position though.
Abner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Strdoza on the ground.
Strdoza is trying to control the position but Abner postures up.
Abner lying in Strdoza's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Strdoza decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Abner taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
