In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 57 wins and 21 losses; Rumsfeld Shart! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 25 wins and 19 losses; Trip Fontaine!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?

Fontaine moves into the clinch.

Fontaine is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Shart is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shart seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Fontaine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Shart tries to pass to full mount but Fontaine defends it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Shart seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fontaine does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Shart wants to work for an arm triangle but Fontaine is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Fontaine is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shart's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shart's back!

Shart quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Shart but it's paid off an Fontaine is forced to tap! Nice work by Shart.
