This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 25 wins and 19 losses; Trip Fontaine! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Fontaine moves into the clinch. Fontaine jumps into guard, dragging Shart to the mat.
Fontaine is trying to control the position but Shart postures up. Fontaine is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Shart is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fontaine controlling Shart's posture. Fontaine throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shart seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Fontaine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fontaine looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Shart puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Fontaine trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Shart tries to pass to full mount but Fontaine defends it. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Shart seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fontaine does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Shart wants to work for an arm triangle but Fontaine is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fontaine is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shart's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shart's back! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Shart (3) vs (4) Fontaine Shart manages to reverse the position and now he's in Fontaine's guard. Nice work there by Shart.

Fontaine stopping the sweep attempt from Shart. Shart is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Fontaine trying to control but Shart is working from the bottom. Shart seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Fontaine sitting in guard here, content to control. Shart is trying to control the action in half guard but Fontaine is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Shart looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Shart wants to control but Fontaine is keeping him busy.

Shart quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Shart but it's paid off an Fontaine is forced to tap! Nice work by Shart.
