PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tribal Chief (ranked 4109 p4p, 4068 weight class) and Luca Brasi (ranked 395 p4p, 0 weight class). Chief comes to the cage accompanied by Roman reigns entrance. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tribal Chief!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luca Brasi!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brasi throws a right and a left that Chief avoids nicely.
Brasi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Brasi misses with the combination.
Chief attempts a counter takedown but Brasi avoids it well and moves away.
Brasi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chief moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Brasi throws a body kick that misses

and Chief counters with a single leg into guard. Brasi didn't expect that.
Chief showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Chief passes Brasi's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Chief stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Chief is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Chief is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chief's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Chief is looking for a kimura but Brasi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chief to get the leverage.
Chief with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Brasi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Chief is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brasi is just riding it out for now. Chief eventually gives up the hold.
Chief looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Chief has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tribal Chief dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Brasi throws a body shot but no joy.
Brasi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Chief feinted with a counter takedown.

Chief fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Brasi to the ground. Chief is now in Brasi's guard.
Brasi is wriggling around but Chief manages to pass to half guard.

Chief controlling the pace.
Brasi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chief. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chief passes the guard and advances to mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chief looking to control and managing it successfully.

Chief seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brasi for as long as he can get away with.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tribal Chief overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brasi is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Chief controlling the position easily from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Chief misses with a head shot.

Chief wants to finish this one by submission but Brasi is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Chief.
Chief moves to take his opponent's back.
Good control from Chief.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Further stalling from Chief.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chief looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Brasi taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tribal Chief!
In his post fight interview, Tribal Chief gave a big smile as he said 'Acknowledge me'.
