Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Xxx Xxx (ranked 5864 p4p, 23205 weight class) and Xxx Xxx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 118 - 27 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xxx Xxx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 125 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xxx Xxx!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Fighter B looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fighter A holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Fighter A keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Fighter A moves into full guard.
Fighter B is looking to work some ground and pound but Fighter A has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter B chips away with some ground and pound.
Fighter B missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Fighter B wants to control from the top but Fighter A keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fighter B.
Fighter A throws a quick counter kick to the body but Fighter B avoids it.
Fighter A tries for a takedown but Fighter B sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fighter B is trying to counter with his kicks.
Fighter A tries for a takedown but Fighter B circles away easily
and Fighter B counters with a good, hard body kick but Fighter A shrugs it off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Fighter A shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fighter B manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fighter A controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Fighter B is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B has control of Fighter A's left arm, preventing Fighter A from doing any damage.
Fighter A slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fighter A with a lazy takedown attempt
and Fighter B counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xxx Xxx. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fighter B will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fighter B just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromFighter A.
Fighter A fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter B fails with the takedown
and Fighter A counters with a nice body kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Xxx Xxx will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Fighter A closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fighter A lands in his opponent's guard.
Fighter A is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fighter B is trying to keep Fighter A in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter A is stalling in the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter B controls Fighter A momentarily but Fighter A frees himself.
Fighter B is pulling down on Fighter A's head. It's preventing any offense from Fighter A, at least for the moment.
Fighter A is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fighter B trying to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fighter B shoots in but no luck this time.
Fighter A fires out a quick counter leg kick but Fighter B just manages to avoid it.

Fighter A darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Still in half guard, Fighter A seems content to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B trying to control but Fighter A postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fighter A thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fighter B's head.
Fighter A controlling the pace.
Fighter A seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fighter B for as long as he can get away with.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fighter B is trying to control but can't.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fighter B misses with a takedown
and Fighter A counters with a body kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Xxx Xxx dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Fighter B shoots and misses
and Fighter A counters with a body kick that stops Fighter B in his tracks momentarily.
Fighter A fails with the takedown.
Fighter B is trying to counter with his kicks.
Fighter B throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fighter A's waist but Fighter A gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fighter B off to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter A gets caught napping as Fighter B dives in and scores a takedown. Fighter A manages to retain guard.
Fighter A on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fighter A tries to get out of the position.
Fighter A is adopting a defensive guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fighter A is on top in guard.


Fighter B throws his legs up looking for a submission but Fighter A uses it to pass to side control.
Fighter B is trying to escape the position but Fighter A is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Fighter A's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Fighter B has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fighter A is working away from the top position though.
Fighter B is trying to control but Fighter A passes into side control!
Fighter A lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Fighter B's shoulder. That is not cool.
Fighter B throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Fighter B is letting Fighter A control him for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fighter A shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fighter A was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fighter A is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter B is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Xxx Xxx showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fighter A has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
