Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Declan McCoy (ranked 80 p4p, 693 weight class) and Lawson Serrano (ranked 11 p4p, 94 weight class). The key to victory for Declan McCoy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Declan McCoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lawson Serrano!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serrano slips a jab from McCoy.
Serrano with the counter takedown but McCoy avoids it easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Serrano has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

McCoy moves into the clinch.
Serrano has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McCoy after a bit of a struggle.
McCoy lands with a left to the head.
McCoy is leaning against Serrano and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
McCoy prevents a takedown attempt there.
McCoy is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Declan McCoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lawson Serrano.

Serrano shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

McCoy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Serrano was well out of range. Poor timing from McCoy.
Serrano changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Serrano takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McCoy throws a shot from downtown. Serrano moves away and avoids it.
Serrano tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Serrano slips a straight right by McCoy.

A looping hook to the body misses from McCoy. Serrano does a little dance to reset his feet.
McCoy just misses with a punch to the body.

McCoy moves into range and clinches up with Serrano.
Serrano changes levels and goes for a takedown here. McCoy fights it off and pushes away nicely.
McCoy smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Serrano has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Serrano there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Serrano counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Serrano thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Serrano has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Serrano throws an elbow but McCoy slips to the side and avoids it well.

Serrano drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McCoy tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Serrano turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Serrano manages to end up in side control.

McCoy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McCoy tries to get out of the position.
McCoy is in a horrible position here. Serrano smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lawson Serrano spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
