PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Jackacy (ranked 956 p4p, 2590 weight class) and Denis Burlaka (ranked 107 p4p, 258 weight class). Jackacy comes to the cage accompanied by Nkolo Akosunga - Lokua Kanza. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Denis Burlaka!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackacy misses with a straight right.
Jackacy tries to clinch up.
Jackacy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burlaka moves away.
Burlaka connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Jackacy scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jackacy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Burlaka doesn't seem bothered though.

Burlaka swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Burlaka has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Jackacy throws a lazy right hand but Burlaka sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Burlaka stalks Jackacy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jackacy's face. Jackacy staggers backwards, shaken.
Burlaka avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Burlaka feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jackacys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jackacy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jackacy throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
No joy there for Burlaka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Burlaka moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and Burlaka counters with a one-two to the body.
Burlaka throws a hook but Jackacy blocks it.
Burlaka bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

and Burlaka counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Burlaka counters with a nice uppercut.
Burlaka is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jackacy had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackacy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Burlaka swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Burlaka gets tackled into the cage by Jackacy. Jackacy maintains the clinch.
Jackacy lands with a light punch inside.
Jackacy goes for a takedown attempt but Burlaka pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jackacy misses with a wild body shot.
Burlaka lands with a good body shot.

Burlaka can't break the clinch.
Jackacy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Burlaka is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Jackacy tries to clinch up but Burlaka circles away and keeps his distance.
Jackacy scores with a head kick. Burlaka tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Jackacy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Burlaka drops his hands momentarily and Jackacy takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Burlaka misses with a double jab.
Burlaka stalks Jackacy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jackacy's face. Jackacy staggers backwards, shaken.
Jackacy fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Burlaka on the side of the head.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Jackacy! Burlaka is out on his feet! Jackacy rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Burlaka is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Burlaka is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
