Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luffy San (ranked 2564 p4p, 3504 weight class) and Shamil Akhmedovich (ranked 262 p4p, 345 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
San has a takedown stuffed.

Akhmedovich shoots in for a double leg but San sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Akhmedovich tries for a takedown but San sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
San shoots in looking for a takedown. Akhmedovich tries to sprawl out of it but San keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Akhmedovich manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Akhmedovich changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

San changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Akhmedovich looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Akhmedovich can do anything to dispel that myth.

San wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Akhmedovich, who protects the arm well.

San looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
San in side control lands a decent elbow.
San lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Akhmedovich down.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

San tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no San has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Akhmedovich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with San. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
