This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Dragan Gracie! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Monk Seal! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Gracie drives through with a takedown into Seal's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Gracie (2) vs (0) Seal Seal keeping full guard, as Gracie tries to pass. Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Seal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Seal's legs - danger averted. Gracie wants to pass the guard but Seal is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well, if Gracie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Seal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gracie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Seal reaches up to try and control the position but Gracie seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Seal rolls and tries to escape and now Gracie has his back!

Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Seal. That's five minutes gone in the round. Seal is looking to advance position but Gracie has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Seal trying to control but not successfully. Gracie just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Gracie's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Gracie is hanging on to Seal's back as he tries to escape.

Seal manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gracie's guard. Nice work there by Seal.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Seal tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard. Seal is still trying to improve position. Seal trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Seal slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. That's nine minutes gone in the round. Seal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working. Gracie knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Seal on the ground. Seal tries to advance to mount but Gracie denies him. Gracie is not content to let Seal control the position. Seal laying and praying for a moment but Gracie takes advantage and regains half guard. Seal is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gracie has managed to free his arm - good work. That's ten minutes gone in the round. Seal tries to control but Gracie wriggling away. Gracie wants to control but Seal is having none of it. Seal looking to control but Gracie is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Gracie is trying to escape the mount.
Seal is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gracie to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gracie shrugs it off. Gracie bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Gracie (20) vs (10) Seal

No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Seal's legs - danger averted. Gracie sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Seal looking for a sweep. Not yet Seal, not yet. Seal trying to keep a closed guard but Gracie is proving a slippery customer.
Gracie controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Seal swivels though and keeps the full guard. Seal looking for subs off his back but Gracie has passed one foot through into half guard.
Gracie prevents Seal from improving his position.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Gracie stalling. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Seal wants to get back to full guard.
