Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hyu Head (ranked 24209 p4p, 2260 weight class) and Dubson Strickland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Head comes to the cage accompanied by Eye of the tiger. Dubson Strickland looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 33 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hyu Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dubson Strickland!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Head.
Head slips a jab and a cross from Strickland.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Head.
Strickland unleashes a big counter combination but Head bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Head.
Head looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hyu Head. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Strickland stuffs the takedown.
Head throws a nice looking combination but Strickland bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Strickland lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for Strickland, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Head went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Strickland has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Head tries to score a power double leg takedown but Strickland sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Head somewhat.

Head drives through with a takedown into Strickland's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Strickland keeping moving, preventing Head from controlling successfully.
Head passes Strickland's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Strickland is refusing to be controlled, as Head sits in half guard.
Head throwing shots but Strickland is blocking nicely.
Head winds up and cracks Strickland with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Head is trying to control. Strickland wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Head has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Head missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Head is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Strickland looks winded!
Head looking to control but Strickland is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Head unloading with bombs!
Head postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Strickland looks a forlorn figure.

Head looking for a guillotine from mount but Strickland is having none of it.

Head is working for a guillotine from mount but Strickland frees his head quite easily.
Head tries to control but Strickland wriggling away.
Strickland has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Strickland really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Head. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Head is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Strickland won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Head off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hyu Head!
A very excited looking Hyu Head rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
