Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alkiviadis Samaras (ranked 2253 p4p, 3325 weight class) and Doo Ho Choi (ranked 192 p4p, 265 weight class). Choi has chosen Superman theme as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Doo Ho Choi!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

I was talking to Samaras's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Choi is trying to force a seperation but Samaras has the dominant position.
Choi has Samaras pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Samaras manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Alkiviadis Samaras has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Doo Ho Choi.
Samaras lands a hook that snaps the head of Choi backwards.

Choi goes for a takedown in the clinch but Samaras prevents it.

Samaras creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Choi with a big uppercut! Choi tries to clinch up but Samaras pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Choi to the mat! Choi covers up and Samaras unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
