Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 32 - 75 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clifford Val Salvacion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Vellitis! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vellitis falls off balance throwing a combination
and Salvacion counters with a body kick that stops Vellitis in his tracks momentarily. Vellitis looks for a takedown but Salvacion sprawls well. Salvacion lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Vellitis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Vellitis stalling in the clinch but Salvacion improves position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vellitis is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Vellitis manages to break the clinch.
Marcus Vellitis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vellitis throws a head kick that misses and Salvacion makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Vellitis really felt that one!
That's one minute gone in the round. Vellitis tries to clinch but Salvacion moves out of range. Vellitis darts in trying to clinch and Salvacion counters with a good, hard body kick but Vellitis shrugs it off. Vellitis moves into the clinch. Salvacion doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Vellitis manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Vellitis pulls Salvacion in close to prevent any damage. Vellitis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Salvacion is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salvacion trying to control but Vellitis is working from the bottom. Salvacion stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vellitis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Vellitis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Salvacion defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Salvacion won't allow Vellitis to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vellitis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Salvacion wants to control from the top but Vellitis keeps moving. Salvacion stops Vellitis from standing up. Vellitis pulls Salvacion in close to prevent any damage. Salvacion stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Vellitis throws up his legs and catches Salvacion in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Salvacion tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Vellitis! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Marcus Vellitis! Marcus Vellitis decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
