Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Dunn (ranked 24608 p4p, 4039 weight class) and Jack Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 420 weight class). Turner has chosen Rapstar as his entrance music. Jake Dunn has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Dunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Turner!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Dunn looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Turner trying to control the pace.
Turner misses with a head shot. Dunn uses the momentum to regain guard.
Turner landing with the ground and pound.
Turner controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turner would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Turner is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Let's hope that Turner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Turner's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Turner clinches.
Turner using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Dunn has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Turner has Dunn pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Turner pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dunn tumbling to the mat - Turner dives into Dunn's guard.
Turner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turner tries to stand but Dunn is controlling from the bottom.
Turner passes Dunn's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Turner wants to stand up but Dunn has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Turner looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Turner tries to pass to full mount but Dunn defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Turner gets a takedown into half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!


Turner darts in and clinches Dunn up against the cage.
Turner just leaning against Dunn, taking a breather.

Dunn is fighting off a takedown attempt but Turner is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dunn to the mat. Dunn regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Dunn manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Turner tightens his grip and picks Dunn up, before dumping him to the ground. Dunn manages to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Turner would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Dunn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Turner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dunn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Turner wants to pass the guard but Dunn is keeping the position.
Turner makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Turner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Turner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Turner is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dunn's shoulder. That is not cool.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Dunn prevents Turner from moving into mount.

Turner has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Turner has managed to clinch.

Turner pulls guard successfully.
Turner wants to stand but Dunn is controlling the position.
Dunn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Turner pulls Dunn in close to prevent any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turner throws a couple of heel strikes.
Dunn won't allow Turner to sweep him here.
Turner is pulling down on Dunn's head. It's preventing any offense from Dunn, at least for the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Turner lands with a nice body punch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Turner throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Dunns head.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Turner lands a knee to the head.
Turner stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Turner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Turner ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Turner shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Turner was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Turner has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Dunn gets tackled into the cage by Turner. Turner maintains the clinch.

Turner ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Turner no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Jack Turner has got the better of the ground game so far.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Turner holds on and takes a little breather.

Turner looking for a sweep. Not yet Turner, not yet.
Dunn looking to pass the guard.

Turner looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Turner can do anything to dispel that myth.
Turner lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Turner wants to stand but Dunn has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jack Turner is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Turner is stalling in the full guard.
Dunn controls Turner momentarily but Turner frees himself.
Turner working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dunn's head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jack Turner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Turner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
